On 29^th October 2020 the European Commission launched an additional set of actions to help limit the spread of the coronavirus, save lives and strengthen the internal market’s resilience.

According to the notification by the competent authorities of Hungary (Notice to Skippers No. 73/Du/2020 of 26^th October 2020), navigation at km 1643.200 of the Danube will be suspended for 48 hours from 9 a.m. on 18^th November 2020 till 9 a.m. on 20^th November 2020 due to repair work on the railway bridge.

During its 20-22 October 2020 meeting, the Danube Commission’s working group for legal and financial matters managed to partially clear the backlog of issues for consideration that had accumulated as a consequence of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The meeting, convened in accordance with the Work Plan of the Danube Commission (DC) for the period from 10^th June 2020 to 31^st December 2020, examined the mutual recognition of certificates of professional qualifications for crews of vessels on the Danube
