Expert Group on Crew and Personnel (EG PERS)
Expert Group on Crew and Personnel (EG PERS) took place at the Danube Commission in Budapest on 14th October 2019.
In the course of the meeting, the experts from the Danube countries (Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine) and the representatives of EC/DG MOVE and the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR) reviewed the progress of mutual recognition of boatmaster’s qualifications and certificates of sector knowledge as well as other qualifications in Danube navigation. The Expert Group had extensive discussions on the implementation of the EU-Directive 2017/2397 in Danube navigation and in the light of this, on the revision of two DC’s Recommendations: on boatmaster’s certificates and vocational training for river operators. Statistical aspects of the boatmaster’s certificates were also raised at the meeting.
