In December 2025, at its 104^th Session, the Danube Commission strongly condemned the military actions of the Russian Federation violating the Belgrade Convention, and decided to collect data on the military actions of the Russian Federation that systematically impede free and safe navigation in the Lower Danube region in a “Register of Damage caused by Russian Military Actions in the Lower Danube Region”.

Ambassador Eszter Sándorfi, the new Representative of the Republic of Hungary to the Danube Commission, presented her credentials on 7 April 2026 to Ambassador Christo Polendakov, President of the Danube Commission.
